Always optimistic at the start: My son. My role model.
Even if it seems difficult given current events, could we – as adult citizens – overcome negative circumstances? When we fail or when things go wrong for us, our society, or other countries, can we be as optimistic as my youngest son?
Can we get back up with the same level of energy and optimism?
Watch this video I recorded a few years ago with my smartphone, capturing my youngest son Collin’s progress. He was less than two years old at the time and riding his Dandy Horse, a balance bike without pedals. And then he crashed! But he brushed off the dirt off his right hand while holding small binoculars in his left. After pretending to sleep for a moment, he got back on his bike and cheerfully shouted, “A nice day, a perfect day. Tatütata!”—his triumphant exclamation—before continuing on.
See in this video, which I did with my smartphone a few years ago to record the progress of my youngest son, Collin. He was less than two years old at the time and was riding his Dandy Horse, a balance bike without pedals. And then he crashed! He brushed the road dust off his right hand, clutching his small binoculars with his left. Then he pretended to sleep for a moment. Only to get back on his bike seconds later and shout a cheerful “A nice day, a perfect day. Tatütata!”, his victory cry, before continuing on.
