Chapter 2

Pinstripes made from his name in golden letters.

During a state visit by then US President Barack Obama, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi – whose perceived Hindu fanaticism did not prove successful in the 2024 election – wore a suit with very distinctive pinstripes a year earlier. Upon closer inspection, the pinstripes are made up of golden letters. They form the prime minister’s monogram: “Narendra Damordardas Modi.” After much publicity, Modi auctioned the famous suit for more than 600,000 euros! The proceeds were from the sale of the suit were used to clean the Ganges River, which is over 2600 kilometers long and considered sacred to the Indian people. The event was reported by Der Spiegel.
